Q: Do I need an alignment when my car vibrates at certain speeds?
A: Typically No. Vibration is usually caused by a improperly balanced tire, poorly worn tire, or bent wheel. To insure a proper solution, we would balance all 4 tires-checking tire and wheel run-out for any tire belt issue or bent wheel. Always a good idea to check the alignment as well to make sure all suspension components are sound and aligned.
Q: What is the proper air pressure for my tires?
A: Each make and model of vehicle has specific air pressure designated by the manufacture for the original equipment tires. This air pressure specification can be found in the owners manual or on the drivers door placard found on the frame with the drivers door open.
Q: When do my tires need to be replaced?
A: A tire is considered worn out when 2/32nds of tread is left. Tires are manufactured with a wear bar in the tread. If you see a solid bar of rubber going across the tread of your tire, it is considered worn out. Colorado climate conditions may warrant replacement sooner than this, as tires do not have as good of traction for winter conditions in the last 25% of their life.
